BOGOR- Teachers are key figures who shape character, hone intelligence, and prepare the nation's next generation, especially in schools, which are places where students instill the basics of knowledge and attitudes to life.
To commemorate National Teachers' Day on November 25, 2025, BRI, through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, BRI Cares, held an event titled "This is My School - A Tribute to Teachers." The event took place at SDN Sukamahi 02 in Megamendung, Bogor Regency, West Java.
The "This is My School – A Tribute to Teachers" program featured a variety of activities, including teacher arts performances, the distribution of food packages, and the awarding of appreciation funds to educators. The teachers enthusiastically welcomed the event, offering a space to express themselves and receive tangible support for their contributions to education.
BRI Corporate Secretary, Dhanny, revealed that this activity was carried out as a form of real appreciation for teachers who have an important role in shaping the character and future of the nation's generation, especially at the elementary school level.
"National Teachers' Day, celebrated every November 25th, is a time to recognize the dedication of educators. However, the celebration is often ceremonial. Through this event, BRI Peduli strives to provide a more meaningful experience by presenting a series of appreciation activities that directly benefit teachers," he said.
He also emphasized that this activity is a manifestation of the company's commitment to supporting teacher welfare and encouraging their enthusiasm in carrying out their noble profession.
"We hope that this National Teachers' Day commemoration will be a meaningful experience for teachers, not only through ceremonial celebrations, but also through providing tangible appreciation, inspiration, and support for their well-being," he added.
On the other hand, Heri Jaya Subrata, a teacher at SDN Sukamahi 02, said that the implementation of National Teachers' Day activities at the school provided enthusiasm and motivation for teachers to continue to provide the best contribution to the world of education, especially for education at SDN Sukamahi 02.
"We express our appreciation and gratitude to BRI for all the contributions they have made as a tangible manifestation of their support and concern for teachers. We are also grateful for the assistance in improving the facilities and infrastructure to support teaching and learning activities at our school," he said.
SDN Sukamahi 02 is one of the schools that received benefits from the BRI Cares Program – This is My School, namely BRI's TJSL program in the field of education that focuses on the construction, renovation, and procurement of educational support facilities and infrastructure, especially for schools in the 3T (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) areas.
This program involves building and renovating schools, improving school facilities and infrastructure, such as classroom desks and chairs, cupboards, playgrounds, toilets, and equipment to support teaching and learning activities. The program is primarily implemented in remote and border areas of Indonesia, where access to education is limited.
Since its implementation in 2021, the BRI Cares "This is My School" program has been distributed to 46 schools, benefiting more than 5,500 students and 500 teachers. The program has also distributed 800 educational scholarships, which are expected to produce a superior generation and strengthen access to quality education for Indonesia's young generation.
The "This is My School" program supports SDGs Point 4 on quality education and the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision through efforts to improve human resources (HR) quality. This program also aligns with the government's Asta Cita (Government Goals), which emphasize human resource development, gender equality, and empowerment of vulnerable groups.
